Jazmin Hughes, Mia Teller, Lauryn Franklin, and Willie Beaudry
For our Interdisciplinary Project (IDP) we chose government surveillance as our research topic. We chose government surveillance because it was a total mystery to us. We had no clue how the government surveyed us, what the surveillance was used or how surveillance helped us.
We chose the research question “What are the regulations around the scope and methodology of government surveillance and what is the information used for?” which we based all of our written articles on. We gathered information from different government surveillance programs like the National Security Agency (NSA) but a lot of research came from articles which were based off leaked highly classified government documents.
The products created for our project include a satirical movie poster, watch, and several essays, The Chronicles of C Squared, All Eyes on You, and The Government Has Eyes; as well as a short film detailing everyday surveillance.
The Government Has Eyes Deffinition essay by William Beaudry
All Eyes On You Cause and effect essay by Jasmine Hughes
The Chronicles Of C Squared A narrative essay by Lauryn Franklin
Annotated Works Cited: Smile, You’re On Camera 🙂
The research question seems to have some words missing and a slight grammatical error, yikes.

Based on your findings, would you say that you are safe even though you have looked up many things on the internet about government surveillance. Would they see this as a threat?

I don’t think that the government is watching everybody, they don’t have that much time, but i think if you do something suspicious, they will find you.

I understand this topic is an infringement of our 4th amendment, however does it really matter? It is impossible for the government to have the manpower to scan through everything you do, and the only way someone will actually be checked is if they appear to be involved with serious criminal activity. I just think the average person is way too insignificant to be affected by surveillance.
